Memphis Ranch pasture in Carr, Colorado at golden hour
Memphis Ranch · Carr, Colorado

Veteran owned. Family operated. One standard, no exceptions.

Memphis Ranch is home. The herd is coming back. Until then, we source from ranchers who meet the same bar we held ourselves to.

The Promise

Restore the animal. Restore the land. Restore the people.

That's not a tagline. It's the order we built the ranch in. If we don't get the animal right, we can't get the land right. If we don't get the land right, we can't feed people food that actually heals.

Bison on Colorado pasture
Chapter I · The Animal

Raised the way a bison was meant to be raised.

Our herd spends every day of its life on open Colorado pasture. They eat what their bodies evolved to eat — grass, in season, the way it grows. No feedlot, no finishing barn, no corn in the last 90 days to plump up the carcass.

No hormones. No antibiotics. Never. The herd moves on a rotation we plan by hand, so the animals stay healthy and the land gets time to recover between grazings.

If the herd isn't right, the soil isn't right. If the soil isn't right, the meat isn't right. You can't shortcut that chain.

Regenerative prairie at golden hour
Chapter II · The Land

Regenerative grazing writes nutrients back into the soil.

Wild bison built the Great Plains soil by moving in large herds, grazing intensively, and leaving it alone to recover. We run our herd on the same pattern, on a smaller scale, on our own rangeland.

The result is deeper roots, richer topsoil, more biodiversity, and more water staying in the ground. We can show you the soil tests. We can show you the land. Come visit if you want.

Chapter III · The People

We raised our own herd for years. We sold it last year.

Last year our family went through something hard, and we made the decision to sell the herd while we rebuild. That was the hardest call we have made as ranchers.

It did not change what we believe about how bison should be raised. We source now from ranches that meet the same standards we held ourselves to — 100% grass-fed and grass-finished, no hormones, no antibiotics, no grain at any point.

Memphis Ranch is still home. The herd is coming back. Every animal we sell, whether we raised it or sourced it, meets the same bar. If you pick up the phone and call us, we pick up.

One animal, nothing wasted

Whole-animal, whole-family.

We use what the animal gives us. Nourishing meat on the inside, ancestral tallow skin care on the outside. The same regenerative source, the same ranch, the same honest process.
